A couple of L.A. friends stuck in a rut decide to impersonate Police officers and take it too far with disastrous and hilarious consequences. Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. bring their comedic chemistry seen in popular TV show “New Girl” to this irreverent and outrageous buddy cop comedy,
Clearly Let’s Be Cops is heavily inspired by the recent “Jump Street” films and although it may not be as original as 21 Jump Street it has all of the wanton comedic elements of 22 Jump Street with none of the tedious and never-ending self-referential humour.
We hope that Let’s Be Cops remains a stand-alone comedy and does not become seduced by success into spawning pointless sequels. Although not a comedy classic by any stretch of the imagination this is a simple, silly and delightfully lewd summer comedy with some genuine belly laughs.
