Electric Boogaloo (2014)

A documentary about the independent production company Cannon Films and its 2 larger-than-life owners, whose quantity over quality approach to filmmaking produced many low-budget cult hits from the late 70s through the 80s that changed the industry forever, this long list of movies includes The ‘American Ninja’ and ‘Delta Force’ series as well as Jean-Claude Van Damme “classics” like ‘Bloodsport’ and ‘Kickboxer’ and dance classic ‘Breakin’.

Directed by Mark Hartley and featuring Dolph Lundgren, Molly Ringwald and Franco Nero among others.

Jurassic World (2015)

The 4th instalment in the “Jurassic” franchise is based in a successful dinosaur theme park on the original island where the tragic events of Jurassic Park took place, after the novelty has worn off and visitors lose interest the management decides to create a new genetically engineered super-dinosaur as an attraction, unsurprisingly the consequences are disastrous.

Directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D’Onofrio among others.

The inevitable movie adaptation of the hugely successful HBO TV show sees Movie star Vince Chase continuing to navigate the soulless and deceptive waters of Hollywood living, with the help of his long-suffering agent and group of loyal friends/hangers-on of course.

Directed by Doug Ellin and starring Adrian Grenier, Jeremy Piven and Kevin Connolly among many others.

Ian McKellen stars as old and retired Sherlock Holmes with time to reflect on his life and work, always the detective though and even with a failing memory he can’t shake an obsession with resolving an unsolved murder case involving a mysterious woman.
