A young man wakes up to find the streets of London completely deserted only to find that a mysterious “Rage” virus has killed off the majority of people across the country and turned the rest into highly-contagious ravenous zombie-like “Infected”, after making contact with the few surviving people they must escape the city to find any remaining survivors without being torn apart or infected themselves.
Visionary director Danny Boyle revolutionizes the “Zombie” genre and combines it with a post-apocalyptic thriller to give us one of the most original, visceral and frightening movie experiences in decades.
A simple plot combined with the “Infected”, Zombies in all but name who are more ferocious than anything we’ve seen, make ‘28 Days Later’ an unforgettable movie experience, but perhaps the most memorable moment is the wide shot of Cillian Murphy roaming the political and touristic heart of London without a living person or moving object in sight, eerie.
Directed by Danny Boyle and starring Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris and Brendan Gleeson among others.
Genre: Horror, Thriller
We’re looking forward to seeing if Mad Max: Fury Road will threaten any of the films in our list, out on the 14th of May in the UK and 15th in the US and please look out for our review then.
#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
