‘Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery’ (1997)

Legendary 60s British secret agent Austin “Danger” Powers is brought out of cryofreeze to stop his arch-nemesis “Dr. Evil” from holding the world to ransom, but he soon finds that adapting to 30 years of social change might be his greatest battle in this comedy spoof modern classic from the unique mind of Mike Myers.
Writer and star Mike Myers unleashed upon the world a fully-formed British Spy-spoof character complete with catchphrases and instantly identifiable look which has become a pop-culture phenomenon… and in the process delivers not only the best Spy-comedy but one of the most iconic comedy films in a generation.
A potpourri of Bond parody, 60’s “flower-power” social satire, sexual innuendo and 90’s sketch-comedy, ‘Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery’ is an effective psychedelic mix that introduces a bunch of memorable & hilariously named characters into the modern lexicon, our favorite being Dr. Evil’s handy assistant “Random Task”.
Directed by Jay Roach and starring Mike Myers, Elizabeth Hurley and Michael York among others.
Genre: Comedy, Adventure
We’ll see if Melissa McCarthy’s ‘Spy’can trouble our list, out tomorrow in the UK and US so please look out for our review. .
#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
