The 9th of July saw the start of the world’s biggest comic-book, Movie, video-game… ah hell! let’s just call it the biggest popular media convention on the planet, San Diego Comic-con International, once a refuge for the like-minded “geekdom” of America to share passions and now a place for the world’s biggest publishers and media conglomerates to promote & sell their wares… and also a place for the world’s “geekdom” to physically converge.
With several announcements and interactive panels on show, we breakdown the biggest Movie happenings, plus a little something on a certain fantasy TV show we can’t help talking about.

Needless to say ‘Star Wars’ always has a considerable presence at comic-con from both the studio and fan side of things, but Friday evening took things to a new level as the might of the Lucasfilm promotional machine rolled into town culminating in an impressive cast & crew panel for perhaps the most anticipated film of all time, out on the 18th of December.
Over 7,000 screaming fans in Hall H were treated to a collection of stars both old and new which brought the core of the original Star Wars cast together to chat and answer questions for perhaps the first time in 30 years, as much love as there was for the new cast, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, it was the legendary Harrison Ford who stole the show soliciting standing ovations and Beatles-like fan euphoria from the assembled geekdom.

Game On
Game of Thrones 2015 panel (Season 5)

After an extraordinary season of the most talked about show on television, fans of GoT might have been waiting in even greater anticipation than usual for the yearly Comic-con, would we find out anything about what happened at the end of season 5 and what to expect in season 6?, well the short answer is no.
As usual some of the stars of season 5 were well represented for fans to quiz but conspicuous in their absence were the show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, perhaps a sign of the growing importance of secrecy going forward as the TV series catches up with and overtakes the books, also clearly illustrated by the skillful avoidance of any questions about season 6 and where the story is headed plus the fact that unlike last year we did not get to meet some of next season’s cast.
So where does that leave the viewers?, we can engage in conspiracy theories about whether that character is really gone and debate over whether the mythologies and prophecies in the book will be applicable to the show’s story, or we can accept that this is all irrelevant and whatever anyone says, anything is possible, the future is not written and nobody is safe, that’s the strength of the show so roll-on April 2016.

This design is incredible! You obviously know how to keep a reader
entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved
to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
