There’s arguably no more frightening a prospect than a bogeyman who stalks you in your sleep and makes sure you never wake up and suffer in eternity, but it’s easy to forget the nature of Wes Craven’s devilish creation ‘Freddy Krueger’ after he spawned a franchise, merchandise, and pop-culture crossovers which even included toys and a cringeworthy 80s rap video with ‘The Fat Boys’.
But lest we forget that this was a former suburban serial killer of children who was burned alive by his victims’ parents, only to return as an acid-tongued, melted-face, bladed-glove demon who terrorises and kills the town’s kids in their sleep—brilliantly brought to life by Robert Englund’s performance and given a horrific playground by Craven, the result of which for us is the epitome of the modern bogeyman.
Directed by Wes Craven and starring Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp and Robert Englund among others.
Genre: Horror, Thriller

#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
