Following our ’12 Films To Watch’ lists for previous years and their absence over the previous 18 months thanks to the fluid chaos of the pandemic era release slate, we finally return to break down 12 of what we think might be some must-see films released in the UK and worldwide during the first half of 2022—spreading them out two per month and only including films which have trailers and UK release dates.
We’ve only included films with confirmed UK release dates but there will be plenty more must-see releases over the coming months so be sure to keep checking our frequently updated ‘2022 Film Calendar‘, and of course please note that thanks to the ongoing uncertainty of the global release slate caused by COVID-19, dates may be changed and releases pulled at any time.

A medieval Scottish lord and his ambitious wife execute a dastardly plan to ruthlessly seize power in the land after the prophecy of three weird witch sisters, only to be plunged into a slow demise into paranoia and delirium, and head towards a reckoning in this distinct take on the Shakespearean tragedy which should not be named from one half of the directing team behind ‘Fargo’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’.
Directed by Joel Coen and starring Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand and Bertie Carvel among others.
A physically ailing doctor and scientist with a rare disease goes to extremes to cure himself only to unexpectedly develop a form of vampirism, as he struggles to balance extraordinary new abilities which could help people against a rising bloodthirst which threatens to turn him into a monster and violate the hippocratic oath he once took.

#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
