Golden Globe Awards 2026

Spread the love

After a recent history of HFPA controversy, boycotts and takeovers, and recent years of an industry in general perilous flux, 2026’s first big film & TV awards ceremony took place this Sunday as the 83rd edition of the Golden Globe Awards rolled into tinseltown. Despite another difficult year for the industry at the box office, in boardrooms, and on the streets, cinema as well as television were once again celebrated in Beverly Hills as an eclectic selection of films were nominated for the big prizes, with a fairly even field being led by Paul Thomas Anderson’s modern American revolutionary fever dream ‘One Battle After Another’ and Joachim Trier’s poignant Norwegian drama ‘Sentimental Value’ with 8 nominations each. So we recap the big film award nominees and winners this year . . . plus our personal picks.

As usual let’s all remember that film criticism is subjective and we all have our opinions on who should win what and why, the important thing is that the majority of the nominees at these shows deserve recognition for great work done, but no more than the many who often do not feature at all.
