Following our ’12 Films To Watch’ lists for previous years, we return to break down 12 of what we think might be some must-see films released in the UK and worldwide during the first half of 2024—spreading the love out with two per month and only including films which have confirmed UK release dates.
There will be plenty more must-see releases added for the UK and beyond over the coming months so be sure to keep checking our frequently updated ‘2024 Film Calendar‘, and of course please note that thanks to the ongoing uncertainty of the global release slate caused by COVID-19, dates may be changed and releases pulled at any time.

In Jerusalem of 33 AD an aimless highfalutin hustler sees an opportunity in the rise of Jesus Christ where others see salvation, as he carves out a piece of the worship and adulation pie by shaping himself into a self-made Messiah, only to incur the wrath of the true faithful and the ruling Romans but unexpectedly finding his own divine path along the way, in this black-centred alternative gospel commentary on celebrity culture and redemption from the writer/director of ‘The Harder They Fall’.
Directed by Jeymes Samuel and starring LaKeith Stanfield, RJ Cyler and Omar Sy among others.
#TriviaTuesday: A cost-cutting insect-like suit was the early design for the alien hunter in 1987's 'Predator'—unsuccessfully worn by the character's first actor Jean-Claude Van Damme—but it was ditched for a now iconic Stan Winston design at twice the price. Money well spent. pic.twitter.com/pvbTmpgUIB
#TriviaTuesday: ‘Big Kahuna Burger’ is most certainly the fictional fast food of choice in the Tarantinoverse, appearing or referenced in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'From Dusk Till Dawn', 'Death Proof', 'Four Rooms', as well as its starring turn in 1994’s 'Pulp Fiction' of course. pic.twitter.com/k3xVsbDuA6
