Chris Rock writes, directs and stars alongside an all-star comedy cast in a semi-autobiographical tale about a successful comedian trying to make it as a serious actor in a tabloid-obsessed world, things are made complicated by his publicity-craving girlfriend and crazy friends & family.

Directed by Chris Rock and starring Chris Rock, Kevin Hart and Rosario Dawson among others.

Rosewater (2014)

Finally released in the UK, ‘Rosewater’ is ‘The Daily Show’s’ Jon Stewart’s directorial debut based on a true story of an Iranian-Canadian journalist’s ordeal as he is imprisoned and tortured by Iranian authorities on the charge of Espionage, a charge which has been linked to the reporter’s appearance on Stewart’s show and his satirizing of the Iranian election although the film suggests otherwise.

Directed by Jon Stewart and starring Gael García Bernal, Kim Bodnia and Dimitri Leonidas among many others.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Director George Miller resurrects the ‘Mad Max’ franchise after 30 years in what will be more “re-imagining” than sequel to the cult-classic post-apocalyptic desert action epic, this time Tom Hardy will star as a mysterious loner who meets a fierce woman on a path to cross the dangerous and desolate desert back to her home.

Directed by George Miller and starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult among others.

Tomorrowland (2015)

Based on a theme-park ride, not much is known about this Disney sci-fi epic brought to us by the maker of ‘The Incredibles’, the little we do know is that it will star George Clooney as a scientist who travels with a precocious teen to a mysterious place in space & time named ‘Tomorrowland’ where everything they do affects the world and beyond.

Directed by Brad Bird and starring George Clooney, Britt Robertson and Hugh Laurie among others.

Poltergeist (2015)

A remake of the 80s Horror classic about the Bowen family who move into a quiet suburban house only to find themselves terrorized by ghosts capable of manipulating the “living-world”, when their daughter is taken by the spirits the Bowens fight back to rescue her and find out where these forces come from.

Directed by Gil Kenan and starring Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris among others.

Timbuktu (2014)

A West-African cattle herder’s quiet family life on the sand dunes of Mali is disrupted by the arrival of dangerous Jihadists to their village who are determined to control their way of life, Timbuktu is a 2014 international film festival favorite and prize winner at Cannes.

Directed by Abderrahmane Sissako and starring Ibrahim Ahmed, Abel Jafri and Toulou Kiki among others.

Danny Collins (2015)

Al Pacino stars as an old pop-star living comfortably on past glories whose life is changed by a long lost letter from John Lennon, the message is strong enough to make him re-discover his love for his art and re-connect with his estranged family…and maybe find love on the way.

San Andreas (2015)

When the “big one”, the earthquake everyone fears, hits California with apocalyptic consequences, a helicopter pilot must take a treacherous journey to find his daughter and save the day, or whatever is left of it, a disaster epic starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
