Rosewater (2014)

Finally released in the UK, ‘Rosewater’ is ‘The Daily Show’s’ Jon Stewart’s directorial debut based on a true story of an Iranian-Canadian journalist’s ordeal as he is imprisoned and tortured by Iranian authorities on the charge of Espionage, a charge which has been linked to the reporter’s appearance on Stewart’s show and his satirizing of the Iranian election although the film suggests otherwise.

Directed by Jon Stewart and starring Gael García Bernal, Kim Bodnia and Dimitri Leonidas among many others.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Director George Miller resurrects the ‘Mad Max’ franchise after 30 years in what will be more “re-imagining” than sequel to the cult-classic post-apocalyptic desert action epic, this time Tom Hardy will star as a mysterious loner who meets a fierce woman on a path to cross the dangerous and desolate desert back to her home.

Directed by George Miller and starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult among others.

Tomorrowland (2015)

Based on a theme-park ride, not much is known about this Disney sci-fi epic brought to us by the maker of ‘The Incredibles’, the little we do know is that it will star George Clooney as a scientist who travels with a precocious teen to a mysterious place in space & time named ‘Tomorrowland’ where everything they do affects the world and beyond.

Directed by Brad Bird and starring George Clooney, Britt Robertson and Hugh Laurie among others.

A remake of the 80s Horror classic about the Bowen family who move into a quiet suburban house only to find themselves terrorized by ghosts capable of manipulating the “living-world”, when their daughter is taken by the spirits the Bowens fight back to rescue her and find out where these forces come from.
