Golden Globe Awards 2022

Spread the love

After a year of customary controversy and a Hollywood boycott over the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) perceived lack of diversity and ethics, not to mention a virus variant currently spreading through America like wildfire, the year’s first big film & TV awards ceremony took place this Sunday in unrecognisable form when the 79th edition of the Golden Globe Awards rolled into tinseltown.

Yet despite an absence of TV coverage, a lack of nominees and stars let alone a red carpet, and no real ceremony to speak of, the show somehow still went on and awards were bestowed to recognise the work done over another supremely difficult year for the industry. So we recap the film award nominees and winners.

As usual let’s all remember that film criticism is subjective and we all have our opinions on who should win what and why, the important thing is that the majority of the nominees at these shows deserve recognition for great work done, but no more than the many who often do not feature at all.
