2015YIF_ArticlePic4February saw a mix Oscar-contender UK releases like the powerful biographical MLK Alabama march film Selma’ as well as big-budget action crime flick Focus’ and Jennifer Aniston’s  contemporary human drama Cake’, but the month primarily was a culmination of the awards season with 2 of the biggest nights in the industry taking place.

2015YIF_ArticlePic6Although awards for artistry are completely subjective, for better or worse they do matter and can make careers, not to mention celebrating achievements in filmmaking and giving publicity to films that normally wouldn’t get much. As always, the awards season culminated in the biggest night of the year for the movie industry with the 87th annual Academy Awards in Hollywood, here are some of the night’s notable winners;
