2014YIF_ArticlePic23October was another strong mixed month of releases with memorable thrillers again making a big impact, we saw 2 of the very best films of the year and strong award-season contenders in the form of David Fincher’s dark thriller Gone Girl and the tense Jake Gyllenhaal-led Nightcrawler as well as a strong directorial debut for Yann Demange in the Northern-Ireland conflict piece ’71.

There were also strong and varied dramas like the award-winning art biopic Turner and Brad Pitt’s World War II action/drama Fury as well as Daniel Radcliffe’s bizarre fantasy Horns.
