The penultimate month of the year saw another eclectic mix of releases led by the hugely anticipated Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Inception) space sci-fi epic Interstellar and the Alan Turing World War II biopic The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
There were also a bunch of diverse films from the funky James Brown biopic Get On Up to the award winning Russian drama Leviathan and the hilarious New-Zealand “mockumentary” What We Do in the Shadows.

We also lost actor and Asian-film legend Ken Takakura (The Yakuza, Black Rain) at 83 of a malignant lymphoma and British Author P.D. James (Children of Men, A Certain Justice) at the age of 94.
